Climber on ropes beneath an old cypress with a split, hanging limb on the Apollo Bay foreshore

The call

One morning we got a call about a damaged limb in an old cypress on the Apollo Bay foreshore, hanging over the walking track. The track had to stay closed until it was dealt with.

That meant ringing the client we were booked with that morning to apologise, so the crew could go straight to the foreshore.

The work

With the track closed off, a climber roped into the cypress and worked up to the split limb. It was cut and brought down in a controlled way, and the branches were cleared from beside the track and chipped.

The result

The damaged limb is gone and the walking track is open to the public again. This is the kind of call our emergency tree service is for.

A dead eucalyptus too dangerous to climb

A huge dead eucalypt stood on a hillside above homes, a driveway and the road. Climbing it wasn’t safe, so Tom worked from a hired spider lift instead.
